You can reply with your dates here   As we said in the blog posted 3rd February, we identified what we think is an excellent venue for a club holiday at Cote Ghyll Mill Youth Hostel near Osmotherley , east of Northallerton . There looks to be a great choice of road cycling gravelling and MTB nearby. As you will have realised, there was insufficient take-up for us to take exclusive use of the Hostel as we suggested in the blog. However, there was quite a bit of interest so we’re now looking at plan B which is a 3-day ‘book yourself’ option Friday to Monday. I’ve set out the accommodation and prices in detail below. Hostels aren’t what they used to be (expectations require them to be a bit smarter to survive) and each room has its own en-suite facilities which pushes up the price. As per runs list this ride goes round the Hartside loop anticlockwise. The weather should be a tad warmer and a bit of sun which makes this a good ride out.  We will stop at the cafe at The Nook Farm cafe (Epiacum?!) 32km. Wind light from the SE and temp might even reach double figures.   With thanks to Adella, we have identified an option for a holiday at Cote Ghyll Mill Youth Hostel near Osmotherley , east of Northallerton . There looks to be a great choice of road cycling gravelling and MTB nearby.  We are proposing to book the hostel entirely for our use from Thursday 18th September to Sunday 21st September . The property does not do self-catering; we either take B & B or full board including a packed lunch and 2 course evening meal and the full board option is very economical so that is what we propose. The property has 14 bedrooms each with 2, 4 or 6 beds in them and all of them are ensuite. I have worked on the basis of 2 people sharing a room but one room (at least) could be turned into a single-sex dorm style room. They are all bunk beds but 5 of the rooms have a lower bunk which is a double bed. If 2 people are in a room for 4 (or 6) they will both be able to have a lower bunk I have worked out the cost on the basis of 2 people sharing each roo...

 Hi everyone We are going to do the second order for kit shortly. At the moment we have 7 people who have expressed an interest in more kit - we need 10 for a minimum order at a sensible price. The route essentially round Skiddaw stops at Maes cafe after about 40km. Thinking of riding to Sunday coffee stop at Lowther: Anyone interested in joining me I will aim to be at the T junction on Beacon Edge leading to the Roundthorn (ie top of strawberry hill road) at 945 ish tomorrow. Then going via Langwathby Culgaith Temple S Morland Gt Strickland Hackthorpe etc (32km) Decide what to do after coffee but prob just return as it looks like being wet in the pm. Cumberland Council is seeking representations on proposals to change the route in Whitehaven. I do not know the area well enough to comment. If anyone is interested and wishes to support or make other representations please do either go ahead and comment (there is access on the website to do this) or get in touch with me (not my preferred option at the moment!).

Taking a well 'travelled' route to Silloth for brunch/lunch at the Fairy Dust Emporium (23 mile) & then follow the Solway coast around Anthorn to Burgh by Sands & back to Dalston. Yes, we've arrived in 2025 - not only an occasion to resolve to get out cycling more often but also 2025 is the year of our Triennial Cycling Event known as the Trivets! These events are organised all over the country by Cycling UK's member groups, aimed at people aged 50 or over, encouraging them to participate in a ride of significant length (100 miles or 100km). We have run a number of popular Trivets rides over the years and have already chosen the date - Wednesday 2nd July. Apart from the date (and even that could change) everything else is up for discussion - the base, the route, the catering, the leaders - so please come along to our meeting on Monday 6th January at 10.30 am to add your thoughts. The success of this event depends on the participation and support of our members. The more the merrier.
