Ride of the falling rain
The reason for the unusual name of this ride is because we will be riding to Eskdalemuir. This area statistically has the highest level of rainfall in the UK - higher even than Borrowdale I have read. The latest forecast I have come across suggests it will be dry and sunny.
Eskdalemuir is my favourite place and whatever route one takes to get there is scenic. We will meet at the Sycamore Cafe in Longtown at 9.30am on Wednesday. The route will include Claygate to Langholm, Bentpath and the B709 to Eskdalemuir for lunch at the community hub. A short distance beyond the hub is the Samye Ling Buddhist temple. If you have not been before it is worth a visit. After lunch we return to Longtown via Castle O’er and Chapelknowe..
I hope to see some of you on the ride
Total distance is 55 miles. The route is here
