MTB ride wed 14 oct

Fantastic cross border MTB/ gravel ride Newcastleton to Kielder and back. 9.30 start at the square in Newcastleton. Approx 35 miles but don't let that deceive you, its a decent length! Mostly gravel by far but takes in a bit  of the blue MTB route  at the Newcastleton end and a red MTB section (lonesome pine trail) at the Kielder end. The MTB is  flowing, not rocky, so as fast or slow as you are comfortable with it! There is an gravel option which misses out the red Kielder tail and part of the Newcastleton blue route and which is an easier way back if necessary.  There is a shortish section of a muddy uphill past the bloody bush stone on the way back. Both routes can be ridden carefully without suspension, but gravel bikes should stick to the gravel route and will have a short push. Hard tail MTB is ideal.  Bring some snacks. Coffee at the  Kielder bike hire and take away food at the Kielder  petrol station, but no proper cafe. Please let me kno...
