3 Bike Ride on Wednesday 24th.

Slap on your sun screen and join me for a route checking ride of the 160km Challenge Ridenorthern loop. Leaving Langwathby at 09:30 the route follows the fell side to Talkin village where we turn right and and realise why it's called a "challenge ride". We'll stop at the hub in Hallbankgate village (1/2 mile off the route) for refreshments before continuing back to Lagwathby via Armathwaite. Total distance about 46 miles - route HERE . Message me (or leave a note on the group WhatsApp if you're coming along. Cheers, Bill 07921 297 045

3 ride Sunday 21 June

Tour de Yorkshire from Kirkby Stephen.... Meet at Kirkby Stephen car park 9.30 (Soulby road, not in the square).  90km quite hilly. The route will go up Mallerstang over to Wensleydale and take the quiet back road past Hardraw, Askrigg and Bolton Castle. Then a really great road over to Grinton in Swaledale.  Return up Swaledale initially by a back road from Grinton then up the main valley past Gunnerside, Keld and finally the pass over to Nateby.   This route takes in all of Wensleydale and Swaledale The roads are mostly nicely undulating. There are two fantastic climbs/ passes: Bolton Castle to Grinton and Keld to Nateby.  Loads of cafe options. There is a great cafe at Bainbridge just off route which would be my suggestion for lunch, plus an extra refreshments in Muker or Keld before tackling the final hill to Nateby over Birkdale. 3 ride wednesday 17th June

Starting at 9.30 at Langwathby village hall, this is the Southern section of the challenge ride 100 mile route , so approx 50 miles. We will go into Kirkby Stephen for a cafe at c 25 miles. I will need to stop once in a while to note/ amend hazards that haven't already been noted for the challenge ride risk assessment. apart from that it should be a good ride out to Dufton Appleby and Kirkby Stephen.  David Fenna 07557 878594  Route  HERE

I have included a not so well known short steep hill near Armathwaite for added fun? up to King Harry farm, it has great views.  Route  HERE David Fenna 07557 878594 Please what's app/ text me directly or message me on the led rides WhatsApp group if you are coming. Club Picnic Long Meg 10th June

Instead of a cafe stop (and in anticipation of glorious summer weather.....), we are having a club picnic at Long Meg near Little Salkeld on Wednesday 10th June from 11 am onwards. This is a bring-your-own-food/refreshments thing. Some will ride out to it and back again. There is a car park so it's quite possible and fine just to drive there. On the link  is a short steep ride on from the Long Meg car park, starting 9.30, up to Renwick and Hartside and back to build up some appetite and thirst! This should get back to Long Meg around 11.30. If the weather turns out too bad for a picnic , I suggest retreating to Melberby Cafe which is a short ride away.  Gox route  HERE For those wishing to have a longer cycling day out, there is be the 3 ride that Adella has organising out from Keswick over Newlands etc! Either way, let's hope for good weather for all. Just see the other blog post for this.  Either way a good trip out hopefully.  David Fenna 07557 878594
