3 Bike Ride Sunday 6th April 2025

52 mile ride starting from Wetheral at 09.30 on Sunday (park outside the community hall/sports field). Hayton, Brampton, Birdoswald with refreshments at Gilsland (18 mile) Bewcastle, Hethersgill & ice cream/snack stop at Newtown (45 mile, cash only). >> ROUTE HERE <<  A few lumps but nothing to cause the hardy EV'ers any problems. 

The weather (at this time) is forecast to be 'beautiful' with lots of sunshine, rain not expected, a gentle breeze with temperatures up to 16°c 🥵 Be great to have company. All welcome.

  With thanks to Adella, we have identified an option for a holiday at Cote Ghyll Mill Youth Hostel near Osmotherley , east of Northallerton . There looks to be a great choice of road cycling gravelling and MTB nearby.  We are proposing to book the hostel entirely for our use from Thursday 18th September to Sunday 21st September . The property does not do self-catering; we either take B & B or full board including a packed lunch and 2 course evening meal and the full board option is very economical so that is what we propose. The property has 14 bedrooms each with 2, 4 or 6 beds in them and all of them are ensuite. I have worked on the basis of 2 people sharing a room but one room (at least) could be turned into a single-sex dorm style room. They are all bunk beds but 5 of the rooms have a lower bunk which is a double bed. If 2 people are in a room for 4 (or 6) they will both be able to have a lower bunk I have worked out the cost on the basis of 2 people sharing each roo...
