3 Bike Ride Wednesday 8th Jan

Ride is as advertised leaving Dalston at 10:00 and heading up to Caldbeck for coffee at Priests Mill (Old Smithy is closed for January). Lunch is at Pot Place in Plumpton - total distance about 45 miles. The weather forecast looks to be OK although it maybe a bit windy - we'll make a decission about the route between Caldbeck & Plumpton on the day & may choose to take a shorter & more sheltered way.

Holiday Thursday 18th to Sunday 21st September

  With thanks to Adella, we have identified an option for a holiday at Cote Ghyll Mill Youth Hostel near Osmotherley , east of Northallerton . There looks to be a great choice of road cycling gravelling and MTB nearby.  We are proposing to book the hostel entirely for our use from Thursday 18th September to Sunday 21st September . The property does not do self-catering; we either take B & B or full board including a packed lunch and 2 course evening meal and the full board option is very economical so that is what we propose. The property has 14 bedrooms each with 2, 4 or 6 beds in them and all of them are ensuite. I have worked on the basis of 2 people sharing a room but one room (at least) could be turned into a single-sex dorm style room. They are all bunk beds but 5 of the rooms have a lower bunk which is a double bed. If 2 people are in a room for 4 (or 6) they will both be able to have a lower bunk I have worked out the cost on the basis of 2 people sharing each roo...
