Tomorrow's 2 bike ride

There are no changes from the plan for my ride tomorrow; I still have some Eden Rivers Trust routes to try out and I propose to try out a route around Talkin Tarn, meeting at coffee time, setting off around 12 and returning for lunch. According to their website, the café is open Saturdays and Sundays through the winter. The route is approximately 12.5 miles and has a bit of ascent (!) including a hill with one arrow so it will be great for the feedback forms (family friendly routes?) - although completing these is optional. I will be driving to the start; others can cycle there but it is due to be cold overnight so take care on the roads. John Roelich has kindly advised me that there is a parking charge of £2.25 for the day. I hope some of you can join me.

Holiday Thursday 18th to Sunday 21st September

  With thanks to Adella, we have identified an option for a holiday at Cote Ghyll Mill Youth Hostel near Osmotherley , east of Northallerton . There looks to be a great choice of road cycling gravelling and MTB nearby.  We are proposing to book the hostel entirely for our use from Thursday 18th September to Sunday 21st September . The property does not do self-catering; we either take B & B or full board including a packed lunch and 2 course evening meal and the full board option is very economical so that is what we propose. The property has 14 bedrooms each with 2, 4 or 6 beds in them and all of them are ensuite. I have worked on the basis of 2 people sharing a room but one room (at least) could be turned into a single-sex dorm style room. They are all bunk beds but 5 of the rooms have a lower bunk which is a double bed. If 2 people are in a room for 4 (or 6) they will both be able to have a lower bunk I have worked out the cost on the basis of 2 people sharing each roo...

Simple Survey of interest in group holiday

As discussed at the AGM - we need to get some indication of interest in a club week away next year 2025. We are thinking11-18 May so.......
