 Hi all,

Our Club Weekend Outing to Osmotherley, North Yorkshire Moors, is just 5 weeks away!

For those of you still considering coming … I have checked on the Cote Gyhll website and there is still availability for 4th to 7th September.

As a reminder, Cote Gyhll is no longer running as a Hostel but a B&B. They also have apartments to let and camping on site.

There are 2 hotels/pubs offering accommodation:

Otherwise there are plenty of B&B's, AirBnB's or holiday cottages you can search on depending on your preference either in Osmotherley or in neighbouring villages.

 Like last year, it will be a fantastic weekend of cycling!

Both Road cycling and gravel cycling are available from the site. 

Will post some possible routes shortly.

Also for anyone not cycling - lots of good walking (the hostel is on the Coast to Coast Path) and attractions.

 If you do book and are coming please let me know and I’ll add you to the Osmotherley 2026 Whatsapp group so we can coordinate meet ups/routes/dinner bookings. (We all had dinner in the Golden Lion which was really good!)

Pyrenean Foothills (Mediterranean France) Cycle Tour

The landscape between Carcassonne, Foix and Perpignan is a delightful place to ride a road bike. It is peppered with deep gorges, vineyards, thick forests and spectacular medieval castles. The narrow roads that link the pretty, sun-baked villages are quiet, generally well surfaced and far from flat, making for a satisfying exploration of this beautiful area. Phil and I have signed up to join Marmot Tours “Pyrenean Foothills” trip from 15 th  to 22 nd  May next year. The trip starts and finishes in Foix (free transfers from/to Toulouse airport) and offers 6 days of cycling with several choices of route on each day.
