IMPORTANT UPDATE: Osmotherley Weekender 4th-7th September

 Hi all

I had an email from Cote Gyhll Hostel in Osmotherley on Friday.

They informed me that, next year, they are no longer running the hostel but have converted it to a B&B at £125 per night with double, single and family rooms. Disappointing, as when I booked a couple of weeks ago it was still showing as a hostel available through the YHA.

They currently have good availability for that weekend with 5 twins, 2 singles and 4 family rooms left.

They are also going to keep the communal kitchen for use of guests which is handy.

Gary and I have decided to pay the extra and go for the B&B option as it wasn't much more and the rooms look quite good on the website. (There is also a free sauna available which I hadn't noticed before!)

Holiday Thursday 18th to Sunday 21st September

  With thanks to Adella, we have identified an option for a holiday at Cote Ghyll Mill Youth Hostel near Osmotherley , east of Northallerton . There looks to be a great choice of road cycling gravelling and MTB nearby.  We are proposing to book the hostel entirely for our use from Thursday 18th September to Sunday 21st September . The property does not do self-catering; we either take B & B or full board including a packed lunch and 2 course evening meal and the full board option is very economical so that is what we propose. The property has 14 bedrooms each with 2, 4 or 6 beds in them and all of them are ensuite. I have worked on the basis of 2 people sharing a room but one room (at least) could be turned into a single-sex dorm style room. They are all bunk beds but 5 of the rooms have a lower bunk which is a double bed. If 2 people are in a room for 4 (or 6) they will both be able to have a lower bunk I have worked out the cost on the basis of 2 people sharing each roo...
