8 Bridges over the River Eden - 3 Bike Ride on Wednesday 29th.

Meet in Dalston 09:30 for a ride that crosses the Eden 8 times from the Carlisle Western bypass all the way upstream to Langwathby. Total distance about 62 miles. Coffee stop at Sally's Cafe after 19miles. BYO food for a further stop later (depending on group needs) probably at Lazonby.  The route is  a mixture of cycleways & urban cycling around Carlisle followed by quiet roads  with a few hills thrown in as we head south up the Eden Valley.

Holiday Thursday 18th to Sunday 21st September

  With thanks to Adella, we have identified an option for a holiday at Cote Ghyll Mill Youth Hostel near Osmotherley , east of Northallerton . There looks to be a great choice of road cycling gravelling and MTB nearby.  We are proposing to book the hostel entirely for our use from Thursday 18th September to Sunday 21st September . The property does not do self-catering; we either take B & B or full board including a packed lunch and 2 course evening meal and the full board option is very economical so that is what we propose. The property has 14 bedrooms each with 2, 4 or 6 beds in them and all of them are ensuite. I have worked on the basis of 2 people sharing a room but one room (at least) could be turned into a single-sex dorm style room. They are all bunk beds but 5 of the rooms have a lower bunk which is a double bed. If 2 people are in a room for 4 (or 6) they will both be able to have a lower bunk I have worked out the cost on the basis of 2 people sharing each roo...
