I have received Notice of the following (as a result of my being on a local committee of local parish councils (as your Club representative) 

'Re: Citizens Advice Carlisle & Eden – Appleby Medical Practice Outreach

Our outreach sessions will take place at Appleby Medical Practice on the following dates:

 

  • Tuesday, 20 January 2026​
  • Tuesday, 03 February 2026​
  • Tuesday, 17 February 2026​
  • Tuesday, 03 March 2026​
  • Tuesday, 17 March 2026​

 

We will continue to offer a 10am appointment slot, which can be booked by calling our admin line on 03300 563 037.

 

Drop-in sessions remain available from 11am onwards.

This only be of interest to some of you. If it is, please would you let me know (so that I can pass on any further such information.

Holiday Thursday 18th to Sunday 21st September

  With thanks to Adella, we have identified an option for a holiday at Cote Ghyll Mill Youth Hostel near Osmotherley , east of Northallerton . There looks to be a great choice of road cycling gravelling and MTB nearby.  We are proposing to book the hostel entirely for our use from Thursday 18th September to Sunday 21st September . The property does not do self-catering; we either take B & B or full board including a packed lunch and 2 course evening meal and the full board option is very economical so that is what we propose. The property has 14 bedrooms each with 2, 4 or 6 beds in them and all of them are ensuite. I have worked on the basis of 2 people sharing a room but one room (at least) could be turned into a single-sex dorm style room. They are all bunk beds but 5 of the rooms have a lower bunk which is a double bed. If 2 people are in a room for 4 (or 6) they will both be able to have a lower bunk I have worked out the cost on the basis of 2 people sharing each roo...

   AGM Langwathby Village Hall Saturday 25th October 1400 Bring and Share Lunch 1230 This is a notice to remind you that our annual meeting at which we review the past year and plan for the coming one, comes up shortly.  So please think about whether you could help by joining the committee and keeping things going!  We hope to have a Bring and Share light lunch before the meeting and possibly after a short morning ride.   It is proposed to have a Club Festive lunch on Saturday 17th January 2026 1230 for 1300 at the Roundthorn Hotel Penrith.
