Two-bike ride Sunday 16 January

To coincide with Melmerby Village Bakery being the coffee stop, I am planning 2 loops from the village. The first is a repeat of the route a few of us did 2 weeks ago in the afternoon, going towards Renwick with a lovely downhill into Kirkoswald and a few hills on the way back - just under 13.5 miles. After coffee we will take the fellside route south beyond Milburn, swooping down into Kirkby Thore and back via Newbiggin - 18.5 miles. Feel free to join us for either or both or just for the coffee.

Trivets Wednesday 2 July 2025

We had another successful planning meeting on Thursday – thanks to all those who came along. If it isn’t there already, please put the date of 2 July in your diary for our Trivets event starting from Dalston Victory Hall. This is a great opportunity to showcase our lovely area to visitors and the figure of 8 route from Dalston, taking in Mungrisdale in the morning and the Solway coast in the afternoon, does just that. We’ve been running Trivets events at least from 2010 – that’s as far back as Nigel and I go – and even if you aren’t up to the riding, it’s always a great day, meeting like minded cyclists and having fun. We can’t do this without the full participation of the club so we hope you will volunteer to help. There is a form to complete to help us spread the jobs around and to make sure we don’t end up with not enough soup and too much crumble!
