Granny Dowbekins for Coffee on Wednesday

Happy New Year everyone!

Given that Pot Place is closed on Wednesday, I'm planning to ride to Granny D's in Pooley Bridge as an alternative. I'll be leaving home in Raughton Head around 9:30 and going via Skelton, Greystoke (10:30ish) and Bennet Head. Let me know if you'd like to join me either at start (or somewhere along the route).

  It is proposed to have a Club Festive lunch on Saturday 17th January 2026 1230 for 1300 at the Roundthorn Hotel Penrith. Trivets Wednesday 2 July 2025

We had another successful planning meeting on Thursday – thanks to all those who came along. If it isn’t there already, please put the date of 2 July in your diary for our Trivets event starting from Dalston Victory Hall. This is a great opportunity to showcase our lovely area to visitors and the figure of 8 route from Dalston, taking in Mungrisdale in the morning and the Solway coast in the afternoon, does just that. We’ve been running Trivets events at least from 2010 – that’s as far back as Nigel and I go – and even if you aren’t up to the riding, it’s always a great day, meeting like minded cyclists and having fun. We can’t do this without the full participation of the club so we hope you will volunteer to help. There is a form to complete to help us spread the jobs around and to make sure we don’t end up with not enough soup and too much crumble!
