Club Rides for August 2020: A way out of lockdown.

A way out of lockdown: We can now meet outside with up to five other people, provided those from different households continue to observe social distancing rules, so up to six people can therefore cycle together in a socially distanced group. If you are travelling by car to exercise or spend time outdoors, the guidance also states that you shouldn’t travel with someone from outside your household unless you can practise social distancing.

As an experiment for August, we are suggesting leaders add their names to this calendar link as a "Named Contact", give a starting location and time and add any appropriate notes. Details of the ride will be posted on the blog later. It might even be appropriate to discuss the route on the day. Any possible cafes or picnic locations can be added as more information becomes available.

Where there is no named contact a suggested starting point has been added. Just turn up on the day and discuss with other members what sort of route you want to follow. Please remember the social distancing guidelines and the maximum of six riders.

If more than six riders turn up at the starting point it will be necessary to have an informal method of splitting the group by agreement with the members. Some could even ride the route in a reverse direction. We are keen to offer rides using the usual "3 bike" and "2 bike" classification. Not all dates may be filled, but it would be good to progress!

Please note that the calendar link is still "active" and changes and additions may occur. We will still use the blog to advertise details of rides. Please also note the post below where Geoff has already advertised a ride for Sunday 2nd August.
