Club Jerseys Hi all, Below is a mock up of the new pattern for our club jerseys. Over the last few weeks I have socialized the designs at various rides and coffee stops and a lot of you have expressed an interest in purchasing either a long sleeve or short sleeve jersey The triangle design appears to be the winner so that is what we are going for. Next steps: I have ordered some men's and women's T1 and T2 sizes which I will bring along to the AGM and some club rides where appropriate so folks can try them on. T1 sizes are more generous than T2 sizes which are apparently more "racer" fit which may suit some people so I got both types for you to try. Both short and long sleeve have a full zip down the front. We have asked Impsport, the manufacturers, to also include a zip on one of the pockets at the back after your feedback. This will be an extra £5 but worth it to store keys/cards etc.. Once we get all your orders it should take around 3-4 weeks to turnaround I hav

See Alison's blog below. 50 mile 3 bike ride starting at 09.30 hours from Dalston. Riding out to & along the Solway estuary taking in Anthorn, Bowness on Solway, Burgh by Sands & Beaumont. Route >> HERE << Coffee/lunch will be at Bowness (31 miles) where we should meet up with Alisons group. It is a fairly easyish, shortish, flattish route & so I would expect to get to Bowness around 11.30 to 12.00. There may be a 'pop' up refreshments stop (hot drinks & snacks) at Beaumont but I can't guarantee it will be open, so byo snacks if needed. The weather forecast around the "Island", at this time, looks reasonable. Though there may be an odd shower or two & quite cool. Let me (or Alison, if joining her ride) know if you are coming as we may need to pre warn the cafe. We are hoping for a big club turnout 🤞😁 John H (text or WhatsApp) 07855534727

We're starting in the north of the County at the car park in Dalston near Carlisle to explore a lovely route out to the coast to Bowness-on-Solway, the start of the Hadrian's Wall walk, with a long section alongside the lovely Solway Estuary between Bowness and Burgh by Sands. If the weather is encouraging we will include the Anthorn Circuit. Mine is a '2-bike ride' standard and, as you know, I am a slow non-e-bike rider but the terrain (fairly flat) is flattering and I would anticipate a speed of around 11 mph though with a group it may be less. My ride is planned to be 40 miles. John will be leading a longer 3 bike ride and hopefully the two groups will meet for a cafe lunch at Bowness-on-Solway. Please bring a snack to eat by the roadside. Some of us have become a bit resistant to travelling a bit further for our rides or putting the bikes in the car to drive to the start. I hope people will take the plunge and join me (or John). Guests are welcome to join us for 3 r

To all those involved in today's Challenge rides. We set out to give people a good day out, to showcase a bit of this lovely area where we live, to raise a bit of money for a very special charity, Eden Valley Hospice, and to have a lot of fun. We will have raised a significant amount of money for our chosen charity - we will blog when we know how much. We missed Claire in the kitchen and we could have done without the rain, but no-one complained - not much, anyway! Every one was well fed and proud at the end of it, including the organisers. Thank you to everyone who took part in any way; by providing soup or crumble (or both), helping in the organising or in the kitchen or simply by being out there cycling. Thanks to Border City Wheelers for the loan of their cycle signs. Special thanks to those who attended from Eden Valley Hospice and a special mention to Jonathan in the kitchen - please come again! That goes for all of you - not just Jonathan. It's the people we meet who m

Meet Langwathby at 9.30am. This is a 50k route along the fellside to Dufton (possible coffee stop) and the ride continues around to Hilton before doubling back to Appleby for perhaps a second stop. The return will be via Colby, Bolton and Culgaith. I hope some of you can join me. Ernest. 07549 131994 PS (GA) This ride will bear a remarkable resemblance to the Sunday 50km ride so those who cannot make it on Sunday could join Ernest. What's more they could contribute here !

Scottish Solway Firth A late Sunday '3' ride offering. A quick check of the BBC Weather app for Sunday shows thundery showers for the lakes and sunny for SW Scotland, so Scotland is the place to be! (No doubt the forecast will change by the time Sunday arrives...😒) This ride starts from Gretna car park on central avenue and heads out toward Dumfries for a lunch stop at Crichten Central Cafe (31miles), returning mostly along the coast. Ice cream stop at Powfoot if required? Total distance about 62miles, very flat so you can enjoy the scenery. Route I hope some of you can join me. Don't forget your sunglasses and sun-cream 😂 Text or WhatsApp Nigel P on 07590 605203
